Many members of our management maintain membership in the Canadian affiliate of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). Several of our management team hold Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designations. ASIS International is the preeminent international organization for security professionals and is dedicated to the continuous improvement of security practices, through educational programs and membership publications.

CGL is a charter member of the Association of Private Security Agencies (APSA). APSA has been a strong advocate for the professional development of security guards and structural improvements in the industry. APSA provided important policy advice to the Government of Ontario, particularly in the matter of Bill 159.

Since 1979, the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) has delivered independent certification and qualification programs. Our CGSB certification is your assurance that we are committed to quality, that the goods and services we provide will perform as expected every time and meet standards and requirements as set by CGSB.

Council of Private Investigators of Ontario is dedicated to the representation of the profession of Private Investigators in the Province of Ontario, through the development and application of industry training, professional standards, and code of ethics.

Canadian Private Investigators’ Resource Center is raising the standard of this rapidly growing industry, and believes this can only be achieved by promoting ethical business practices and ensuring that all newcomers are properly educated in the theoretical and practical aspects of private sector investigations. It ensures that potential clients are referred to the private investigation agency which offers the desired service and location.

The Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network (CACN) is a coalition of individuals, companies firms and associations that have united in the fight against product counterfeiting and copyright piracy in Canada and Internationally.

Several members are certified with IAHSS. IAHSS is comprised of security, law enforcement and safety individuals dedicated to the protection of healthcare facilities worldwide. IAHSS strives to combine public safety officer training with staff training, policies and technology to achieve the most secure hospital environments possible. Additionally, the IAHSS partners with government agencies and other organizations representing risk managers, emergency managers, engineers, architects, nurses, doctors and other healthcare stakeholders to further patient security and safety.

International Association of Crime Analysts. Is an association dedicated to improving the Criminal Statistical Forecast (CSF), as well as, training and liaising for work purposes.

The International Association of Counterterrorism and Security Personnel is a network of professional law enforcement and security personnel who liaise for training and work purposes, covering global events and tactical evaluations.

National Association of Professional Background Screeners are a governing body and give oversight to the industry.

The purpose of the association is to provide active support to municipal, provincial, and federal law enforcement guards, and members of the safety and security community in order to establish for their clients and citizens a high quality of life and safety in the Toronto Area. TAPPS facilitates education, training, information, and intelligence sharing in partnership with the Toronto Police Service to mobilize public and private sector entities to keep the City of Toronto safe and secure.

The World Association of Detectives was founded in 1925. In 1950, the World Secret Service Association, Inc. was formed as a joint venture by the combined membership of the International Secret Service Association (founded in 1921) and the World Association of Detectives.
